January 2021. Europe is just emerging from lockdown. I head to Tenerife, an island built around tourism, at a time when the tourists are gone. A place that usually teems with visitors now feels stuck in a kind of forced pause. Life is running slow, spaces feel like they’re waiting, caught between seasons. You can tell it’ll pick up again soon. But for now, what’s left are these empty places, these worn-out facades, these little absurd details you wouldn’t normally notice. Wifi En Los Alojamientos is a wander through this in-between, a suspended moment where the tourist island stands exposed.
